Enter The Gifting Universe with Unlisted’s Hypnotic Holiday Campaign for MECCA.

It’s one of the most anticipated events in the Australian beauty calendar – the unveiling of MECCA’s annual holiday artist in partnership with the National Gallery of Victoria. This year, MECCA called upon Unlisted to bring the artwork of featured artist, Natalya Hughes, to life in animation. Brisbane-based Hughes' works integrates decorative arts and ornamental design, with concepts that challenge perceptions of beauty, power and the female experience.

Unlisted’s Temple Caché directed the special project, which is the beauty giant’s largest animated campaign in twenty-seven years. Executive Producer Katie Mackin immediately knew that the French duo were the ideal creatives for the brief, saying; “MECCA’s brand is deeply rooted in art and design, so we wanted to honour that while preserving the essence of Natalya’s captivating work. Temple Caché’s unique visual style and mastery of collage felt like a perfect fit for this campaign.”

There are fourteen films in the campaign, each employing fluid animation that borders on psychedelic, with bold colours and retro architecture. They can be seen now online and in Mecca stores across Australia.
